A Phalanx of Angels Ascending by James Stanford

The art installation, A Phalanx of Angels Ascending by James Stanford, was commissioned by Alison Chambers, the owner of The 705 building, an arts incubator. Stanford’s mural pays homage to Betty Willis’ Blue Angel statue and spans over 2,000 square feet, encompassing three sides of the building, making it viewable from all angles on Las Vegas Boulevard. A lovely interview of Stanford regarding the mural by Jello Biafra in the The New Current is a delightful read. Numerous photographs are featured in I Support Street Art, as well as an angelic article by Debbie Hall of Sensi Magazine.
